| Passport, NIC for Prabhakarans son By

Chandrasekera The applications for the national identity card and the passport had been brought by the minister in question from the north to Colombo and he had contacted the Department of Registration of Persons and the Department of Immigration and Emigration personally. He had asked his personal secretary to get the national identity card and the passport, informed sources said. The necessity for Charles Anthony to pursue education abroad had arisen a few years back but he was unable to get the required documents earlier. It was Thamil Chelvam, political leader of the LTTE who had been the direct link between the LTTE leader, Prabhakaran and the Minister concerned to get the national identity card and the passport to Charles Anthony informed sources said. Sources said that the address of Charles Anthony to obtain these two vital documents was not disclosed by the two government departments. According to the procedures, an applicant should provide a relevant document from the respective Grama Sevaka to prove his or her permanent address and the birth certificate. To obtain a passport, the National Identity card and the birth certificate are essential documents. |
