|Warne to be sent home
JOHANNESBURG, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Australia will send Shane Warne home from the World Cup after the player failed a drugs test, an informed source told Reuters on Tuesday.
The source said Warne had tested positive for a diuretic a drug often used to help weight loss or as a masking agent for other drugs.
He said the test had been carried out by the Australian Cricket Board. It was unclear when the test was done, or whether it was a routine procedure or specifically for the World Cup.
Australia team officials declined to confirm or deny the news but said a news conference with Warne would be held at 0700 GMT just one hour before the start of Australias first match of their World Cup defence against Pakistan.
Warne has been on a fitness regime since the start of 2002 and has lost around 13 kilogrammes.
